VW CAMPER MAKES ITS PITCH
This is bound to be a hot seller this summer. It’s Volkswagen’s new Caddy California camper van. Costing from £29,965, which is considerably cheaper than the larger T6.1 California and Grand California, the Caddy features a foldable bed, seating for five, with a removable second row, a single burner cooker and a handy stowage compartment.
It’s amazing how much you can now pay for a Range Rover. JLR has announced it is building a couple of special edition SVAutobiography models, the Ultimate at an eye-watering £183,706 and the Dynamic at £147,441. The Ultimate comes with a 565PS version of JLR’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine or the P400e PHEV powertrain that’s available in the Velar and other Land/ Range Rover vehicles. The Dynamic comes only with the V8 and a standard wheelbase. Still, you do get a wide choice of top quality trims for your money.
A host of accessories is available including a standalone tail tent, providing additional living space, and a sleeping compartment. There’s also a maxi version at £31,285. The order books open in late May.
