Mariners and Morecambe moved

-

GRIMSBY Town have confirmed the kick-off time for their midweek game against Morecambe has been brought forward.

The Mariners are set to host the Shrimps at Blundell Park on Tuesday night (April 20) in their penultimate home game of the 2020/21 season.

The club have announced the game will now kick off at 7pm, in accordance with many of the other midweek games this season with fans unable to attend. Town will also be playing at an earlier time tomorrow as Bolton visit Cleethorpes, with confirmation this week that the game will now kick off at 12.30pm.

The EFL announced last weekend that all of its 3pm games would be moved in order to avoid a clash with the funeral of Prince Philip.

A national minute’s silence will be observed as the funeral begins at 3pm, with all 11 fixtures in League Two now set for a lunchtime kick-off with the exception of Colchester United’s clash with Walsall, which will take place at 5.30pm instead.

Events across a number of sports have taken the decision to adjust their schedules, with the Premier League, Premiership Rugby, F1 and British Horseracing following suit in moving fixtures and events.

The National League has also confirmed its 3pm kick-offs have been moved to 12.30pm, while the Women’s FA Cup fourth round tie between Manchester City and Aston Villa will be brought forward to a noon kick-off.
