Pets damage costs £500


PETS cause an average of £522 of destructio­n in the home, says a report. More than one in five owners admit their animals are to blame for a surge of expensive repairs. And one in 15 owners have paid out up to £1,000 for pet vandalism.

Furry pals chew through doors, walls, phonelines, wires and even trees, says’s research.

Spokesman Jess Willock said: “Pets can come into our lives and cause damage we didn’t expect.”
