Coke and Hendrie doubts for Shrimps clash

-

LUKE Hendrie and Giles Coke are both doubts for Grimsby Town’s clash with Morecambe tomorrow. The pair picked up knocks during the 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, with Paul Hurst admitting afterwards both may have to sit out the visit of the Shrimps.

Hendrie went down midway through the second half before being forced off with less than 10 minutes of normal time to go at Blundell Park.

Coke, meanwhile, looked to be in serious trouble at the full-time whistle as he went down at the end of Town’s efforts to hold onto their lead in stoppage time.

The midfielder did manage to get to his feet despite a stretcher being called for, but left the pitch in some discomfort before struggling to walk out of the ground.

“Luke was feeling his heel, he did it in the first half,” Hurst explained.

“I thought we might end up making a sub, he took a kick on it after, so that’s what that is.

“I’m not sure how bad it is, he just felt it pushing off in the first half.

“Cokey cleared a ball in the box and felt something in his back. He is an older player, but he looked about 80 coming off the pitch there!

“Hopefully it’s one of those freak things that can settle down, but we’ve got a game on Tuesday so, as it stands, you’d have to say both are doubts.”

The pair add to the Mariners’ list of concerns for tomorrow’s clash, with George Williams also a doubt for the visit of Morecambe.

The winger missed out on Saturday’s win through illness, while Sean Scannell picked up an injury in training, scuppering his chances of making a comeback.
