Terrific Town produce brilliant team performance in Wanderers victory

Here’s how the players rated at Blundell Park on Saturday...

-

James McKeown: Two outstanding saves to deny Thomason and Doyle in either half, which proved vital. Given the nod by his manager, and he showed exactly why 8/10 Luke Hendrie: A real battling performance from the full-back, especially after taking a knock and attempting to fight on. His injury raises a few questions for Tuesday now 8/10

Elliott Hewitt: Up against a potent attack, he showed his usual composure in dealing with the likes of Doyle and Isgrove, and supported his centre-back partner superbly again 8/10

Rollin Menayese: Another brilliant display, and he looked ridiculously calm on the ball. Town could do with staying up just to give themselves a better chance of keeping him in the summer! 8/10

Sam Habergham: A few concerns when he went down with a knock in the second half, but he battled on and played a big part in the defensive rear-guard late on 8/10 Harry Clifton: An outstanding performance from the youth team graduate. Did superbly in creating the all-important second, and was there to fill in wherever he was needed 8/10 (STAR MAN)

Jay Matete: Could have had a hat-trick within the opening 20 minutes! Gave Town the perfect start, and was superb as always in breaking up play in the middle of the park 8/10

Giles Coke: How he ended up in non-league last summer is looking more confusing with every game he plays. Worrying to see him struggling to get off the pitch afterwards though 8/10

Evan Khouri: Handed his big chance, and league debuts don’t get much harder than against a side like Bolton, but he carried himself superbly 8/10

Lenell John-Lewis: Held the ball up brilliantly and had Bolton’s defenders unable to decide whether to try and tackle him or focus their efforts elsewhere. Unlucky not to bag a goal 8/10

James Hanson: Looked fitter than ever as he chased every possible cause down. Perhaps should have buried his chance when he hit the bar, but he led the line superbly throughout 8/10

From the bench

Luke Spokes (Khouri 81): His fresh legs were needed late on as Town gave everything to hold on for the win 6/10

Ira Jackson Jr (Hendrie 84): In the right place at the right time to secure the win! 6/10

Not used: Battersby, Waterfall, Rose, Lamy, Green.
