Five neighbours from Seamer in North Yorkshire each won £30,000 with People’s Postcode Lottery after their postcode, YO12 4NL, came up a winner, bringing a total of £150,000 to the street.

Lisa Borrie, 39, who runs her own business, was thrilled with the news of her £30,000 win. “That’s amazing!” she said. “This is incredible – I can’t believe it.

“It was my dad who told me to sign up. I think he’s more excited than I am!”

Lisa, her teenage daughters and her partner recently moved house, so her win has come at the perfect time.

She said: “I’m a big fan of interiors so it will be amazing to be able to do it up.”

“The back garden is also a space I really want to enjoy. I’ve spent weeks designing it, and now I can afford to go ahead. Everyone has realised over the past year how important outdoor space is, so to share it with family and friends will be amazing.

“It will be nice to finally book a holiday too! We’ve always wanted to go to Cuba, so that’s high on the list. It just eases everything to have the freedom to do stuff we really want to do. I’m usually super-cautious, so I will make sure it stretches!”

Another winner from the lucky street was Chloe Webster, 29.

She said: “No way! Wow! That is amazing – I can’t believe it!”

When asked what she’d spend her winnings on, she was still in shock, saying: “I just can’t even comprehend it. I have a one-year-old daughter so I’m sure a lot of the money will go on her. I’ll maybe get a conservatory for my new house, or do something with my back garden.”

Two further winners chose to remain anonymous. People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said: “I hope everyone enjoys treating themselves with their win.”

People’s Postcode Lottery manages multiple society lotteries promoted by different charities and good causes. People play with their postcode for a chance to win cash prizes.

A minimum of 32 per cent from each subscription goes directly to charities and good causes across Great Britain and internationally. Players have raised over £700 million so far.

It costs £10 a month to play and winning postcodes are announced every day. New players can sign up online at postcodelottery.co.uk and pay using direct debit, debit card or PayPal. Or you can phone on 0808 168 2515 and speak to one of the friendly team members.
