Kindhearted Terry makes our town a happier place

-

IWOULD just like to say how wonderful it is that mental health advocate Terry Birkett puts in so much effort to help the people of this area and beyond. regularly read in the Grimsby Telegraph of his altruistic behaviour and, quite frankly, it gladdens the soul.

If only we had more people like Terry the world would be a better place.

His advice of simply just talking about your problems is second to none.

All it takes is someone to listen to you for you to start feeling better. Communication is so important.

We are social creatures and are not designed to operate alone.

This is another reason why this pandemic has been so destructive.

Nobody should feel any shame whatsoever for feeling low throughout the past year.

At long last it feels the green shoots of recovery - both economically and mentally - are starting to appear.

So, as Terry says, just reach out to someone if they need it.

We are all people at the end of the day, who thrive on social interaction and the inherent well-being this creates.

All my best wishes to all of you out there.

Keep talking.

Keep listening.
