Arnold set for first Owls encounter

-

CLEETHORPES Town’s new manager Nathan Arnold leads his team for the first time when they travel to struggling Brighouse Town this afternoon.

The former Mariners’ favourite was appointed boss this week after taking over from interim manager Jon Davy.

The Owls have lost their last two matches but are still in a strong position in the race for the promotion, lying fourth in the Northern Premier League Division One East.

This afternoon’s opponents are having a torrid time having lost their last six games, conceding 15 goals and scoring only one.

Brighouse sit 16th in the table on 14 points, 11 adrift of Clee who are determined to return to winning ways after recent defeats to title favourites Worksop Town and second-bottom Shildon.

Last season, the Linden outfit did the double over Brighouse, winning 3-2 at home a year ago and 2-0 away in February.

A win could see Arnold’s men leapfrog thirdplaced Hebburn Town who host the league’s form team, Worksop Town.
