Chip shop going up for auction

-

IF you’ve ever fancied owning your own business or running a chippy then this property could be the perfect opportunity.

Great British Chips and Fish, on Beechwood Avenue, in Grimsby, has gone up for an auction with a guide price of £50,000. The auction will start on Wednesday, December 7, but has already received bids of up to £45,000.

The property comes with all the fryers and machines you could ever want to run your own fish and chip business.

First established in the 1980s, this building is well known around town, but can be changed to suit any business. In 2020, it underwent a large refurbishment which saw new windows, doors and shutters introduced alongside a whole host of equipment inside.

This included a new grill, kebab spit and a large fryer. The shop is also next door to a newsagents, lending itself to a large foot fall. The auction itself will take place for three hours online, giving prospective buyers time to get their bids in.

Situated on the Nunsthorpe, the building is in the heart of one of the most populated estates in the whole of Grimsby. However, if you don’t fancy smelling of fish, then the building can also be easily adapted into a pizza shop or similar takeaway.
