Howe return provides boost to Cleethorpes

-

CLEETHORPES Town take on promotion rivals Hebburn Town at the Linden this afternoon in a clash which could see the Owls strengthen their position in the top five in the promotion race.

Nathan Arnold’s men sit third in the Northern Premier League Division One East on 28 points, one place and one point above the Tyne and Wear outfit.

The division’s top scorer Declan Howe is in contention after missing the last three games through suspension following his red card at Carlton Town. He will be keen to add to his tally of 11 league goals as well as looking to impress new boss Arnold.

The Hornets have a good record on the road, having won five, drawn two and lost only one.

They have scored the same number of goals as the Linden outfit but suffered a major setback last weekend when they were thrashed 6-1 at home to title favourites Worksop Town.

Honours were shared between the two sides last season after Hebburn beat the Owls 2-0 in December, though Clee took revenge in the North East in April with a convincing 4-0 win.
