Man ‘taken to hospital’ after serious crash on the A46
TWO-CAR COLLISION ON BUSY LINCOLNSHIRE ROAD
A MAN has reportedly been taken to hospital following a serious two-car crash on a busy Lincolnshire road.
Two badly damaged black cars could be seen at the junction of South Dale Road and the A46 bypass in Caistor. Police and emergency services responded to the incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The road remained closed as officers conducted investigations. Earlier, Lincolnshire Police said they expected the route would be closed for several hours in both directions.
A resident living nearby who “rushed out” after hearing a loud bang said a
VW car and a Porsche had been involved in a collision and one person had been taken to hospital. Crash scene investigators were on the site and a police drone was circling overhead.
In a statement, Lincolnshire Police said: “We’re at the scene of a serious two-vehicle collision in Caistor. The A46 between the junctions with A1173 and South Street, Caistor will be closed for several hours. Diversions are in place, but the route is not suitable for HGVs. More updates to follow. Incident 391 of November 19.”
The force has been contacted for further comment. Traffic service Inrix, which reports on incidents on the roads, said the road remained closed but traffic was “coping well”.
