£50,000 drug factory seized by police in Op Galaxy
FIVE ARRESTS IN NORTH EAST LINCOLNSHIRE
A CANNABIS grow worth £50k was seized by Humberside Police in what has been a good week for Op Galaxy.
Op Galaxy’s intensification period began last Monday and has already seen some positive results right across the Humberside region.
In four days of action, seven warrants have been carried out and there have been more than 30 arrests.
On Monday, November 14, officers joined Trading Standards officers on warrants in Hull, where nearly 100,000 illicit cigarettes were uncovered, along with nearly 600 packets of tobacco, 1,000 illegal vapes and a substantial amount of cash.
Elsewhere in the city, two men were arrested after a cannabis grow was uncovered on Albert Avenue.
The following day, a warrant was conducted on Aire Street in Goole. A 48-year-old man was charged with possession of Class A drugs and is due to appear at Hull Magistrates’ Court next month.
Wednesday saw Neighbourhood Policing Teams engage with schools across the East Riding to increase education around knife-related crime.
In North East Lincolnshire, a misuse of drugs act warrant was conducted and resulted in five people being arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.
On Thursday, a drugs warrant was carried out on Park Road, Hull, where £50k of cannabis was uncovered.
In Scunthorpe, officers were joined by passive drugs dog Roscoe on patrol of the Town and Crosby wards.
Seven people were searched for drugs, and one was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.
