TRAFFIC delays are expected on A18 Barton Street as it is set to close for routine maintenance work. North East Lincolnshire Council is overseeing the work alongside its delivery partner Equans.

It will include renewal of existing road markings, minor carriageway repairs, drainage repairs and maintenance, vegetation cutting and sign cleaning.

To ensure the safety of the workforce, a road closure will be in place between the A46 Laceby Crossroads Roundabout and the junction of the A18 and the A16 on Monday, November 28, between 7am and 6pm.

During the work, a diversion will be in place between the A46 and the A16.

The work will only take one day to be completed and advanced warning signs are being displayed to advise motorists well in advance.

Access to residential properties and businesses premises within the closure will be maintained via the following routes:

■ Access between Brigsley and East Ravendale will be maintained across Ashby Hill roundabout throughout the closure.

■ Access to Laceby Manor, Oaklands Garden Centre and Best Western Oaklands Hall will only be available from the A46 Laceby crossroads roundabout.

■ Access to Willow Lakes Lodges and Landmark Café will be maintained via Ashby Hill roundabout.

■ Access between Beelsby and Barnoldby-le-Beck will be maintained via the new A18 roundabout at the Waltham Road junction.

In a statement, a spokesperson from North East Lincolnshire Council said: “The council and Equans would like to apologise in advance for any disturbance the works may cause and assure you that the work will be completed as quickly and safely as possible.”
