A WEIRD and wonderful Christmas fair offering psychic mediums, tarot and palm readings, numerology, and reiki healing came to Grimsby for a day of quirky fun.

On Sunday, from 10am until 4pm, the Spirit of Christmas Mind, Body and Spirit Fayre took place at the Pelham Suite on Cambridge Road, where stallholders and service providers were encouraged to don their best Victorian attire for the occasion.

A range of psychics from the area were on hand to offer personal readings alongside trained practitioners in reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that is thought to “cleanse” a person’s negative energies from their body. There were also tarot card readings, numerologists and stallholders selling healing crystals, books and other such “alternative” homeware.

The Mind, Body and Spirit Fayre was launched by mum and daughter Mo Auty and Sayka Christoffersen in October 2021 in a bid to promote the products stocked at their Littlefield Lane shop, A Little Touch of Class.

The turnout was so strong that they have since hosted seven more fairs, and plan to host more in the coming months.

Fair organiser Sayka Christoffersen said: “I’d shut down and stopped believing a little bit since losing my grandad, but all of a sudden everything I’d always loved and believed awoken in me again.

“So we decided to sell crystals in the shop. Then Covid hit and we had this shop full of crystals and new items and no one knew we were there, so we decided to launch the fair to promote our business.

“A couple of mediums approached us and the doors slowly started to open. Now we’ve got a waiting list of people who want to come and exhibit at our fairs.

“Eight fairs in one year is a lot - I’m absolutely amazed at how successful it’s it s been.” been.
