Moped catches fire after crash
A MOPED caught fire shortly after being involved in a crash in Grimsby.
Emergency services were called to an incident on Harold Street at around 3.40pm on Tuesday, November 22, after receiving reports of a collision between a moped and a car. Fire crews are said to have taped off the Rutland Street junction of the road to make way for recovery vehicles. The motorcyclist reportedly suffered minor injuries in the collision, but the driver of the car was not harmed. The street was seen being cleaned up at around 4.40pm.
In a statement, a spokesperson from Humberside Police said: “We were called to a road traffic collision at 3.40pm today (Tuesday) on Harold Street in Grimsby. A moped had collided with a car. The motorcyclist suffered minor injuries in the collision. The driver was not harmed. The motorcycle set alight and the emergency services extinguished the fire at the scene.”
