All-electric Subaru Solterra is now available at Nunns
UP TO 288 MILES ON A SINGLE CHARGE
THE eagerly anticipated Subaru Solterra all-electric SUV has arrived at Nunns of Grimsby, where a demonstrator is available for test drives and vehicles are in stock ready for immediate delivery.
The Subaru Solterra is winning heads and hearts, and it’s easy to see why. Like the rest of the Subaru range, it’s an all-wheel drive, which blends functionality with eye-catching style and Subaru’s rugged reliability, but this time fully powered by the latest battery technology.
The Solterra – from the Latin for sun and earth – has five-star safety ratings and a driving range of up to 288 miles on a single charge, and the 150kW rapid charging capability allows for 20 to 80 per cent charging in under 30 minutes.
Pricing for the Solterra starts at £49,995 and it will provide competition for the likes of the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Skoda Enyaq iV. The Solterra is available in two specification levels – the entry level Limited and top spec Touring. Both models utilise a dual motor system so permanent all-wheel drive comes as standard allowing torque to be distrusted between front and rear axles for maximum grip giving the driver confidence and control in any situation.
The power output of the vehicle is an impressive 218PS, making the Solterra superbly responsive and great fun to drive, with 0-62mph acceleration possible in 6.9 seconds. The Limited model gets 18-inch alloys as standard, along with adaptive cruise control, the X-Mode drive setting for different terrains, heated seats front and rear, a 360-degree bird’s eye camera and digital rear view mirror.
Go up to the Touring specification and you get 20-inch wheels, synthetic leather seats, a panoramic roof, Harman Kardon sound system and wireless phone charging. Measuring 4,690mm long, 1,860mm wide and 1,650mm tall, the Solterra is a full size SUV, equivalent to the size of the Subaru Forrester.
Due to its long wheel base and flat floor, there’s ample leg room in the rear. There’s generous room in the boot with 452L of space in the Limited and 441L in the Touring. Exterior styling is bold with pronounced black wheel arches, angular front end and sharp headlamps giving the Solterra true presence on the road.
The innovative cockpit layout offers great visibility and panoramic sunroof allows lots of light into the cabin. It’s 12.3inch Tesla-esque touchscreen system utilises wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
