MAX CROCOMBE: Not asked to make a save of note in the first half with Town defending well in their own box when the hosts managed to work the ball in there. 6
MICHEE EFETE: Got stuck into some good defensive work early in the game and got into some good positions at the other end of the pitch pushing forward down the inside-right channel. 6
LUKE WATERFALL: Got in the way of most efforts or crosses into the box from Cambridge in the first period, as you would expect from Town’s towering skipper in the centre of the defence. 8
NIALL MAHER: A rare chance to play in a back four, as a pair with Waterfall after he got the nod ahead of Smith, who has been difficult to displace, to start this game. Kept it nice and tidy at the back alongside the captain. 7
DANNY AMOS: Slotted back into a morefamiliar full-back role after being asked to play as an attacking wing-back in the last two games and formed a solid defensive unit for Town. 7
KIERAN GREEN: Playing in the role that he did so well in away at Stockport, Green had a bit of a hectic first 45 minutes with a strange booking and a header in his own box which rebounded off the crossbar. Battling performance in the middle. 8
HARRY CLIFTON: Adopted quite a fluid role in the centre of midfield, pushing high up alongside McAtee when Town were in possession and dropping in alongside Holohan without the ball. 7
GAVAN HOLOHAN: Missed a late chance which most would have thought would be the crucial miss that ensured a replay, but his blushes were spared. 8
OTIS KHAN: Not involved as much as he would have liked out on the left-hand side in the first half. Erupted late in the second half with two vital goals to take Town through. 9
BRENDAN KIERNAN: Finishing not the best at times but really good aside from that, getting into great positions, vital contribution to the first goal. 8
JOHN MCATEE: Lively performance at the top of the pitch and was mainly required to be the provider of chances in the end for the Mariners. 7
