A HAIRDRESSERS in Laceby will soon be opening a new salon after scooping numerous awards at a recent ceremony.

Fusion Hair Co is no stranger to winning, being crowned the best salon in the UK earlier this year and winning multiple awards at previous ceremonies.

Now, having won some for four years in a row, owner Chris Grimley and the team are planning on expanding. However, with the cost of living crisis, Chris has had to make a few changes to make sure the business runs smoothly.

Winning the awards has been great for Chris, but none of it would have been possible without her team behind her.

She explained: “It’s an amazing feeling to win these awards and I’m very proud of the team for what we have achieved. “Regardless of how many times I’ve won awards though, it still feels surreal.

“I never get carried away either, every time we win the awards it blows my mind that we’ve done it again.

“This year I took some of the team with me too who had never been to an award ceremony, so it was great to pay back to them for all their hard work.

“We’ve now won some of the awards for three years on the bounce which I would have said is ridiculous if you’d have told me a few years ago.”

Chris won a whole host of awards including Best Salon, Best Customer Experience and Best Colour Stylist.

However, as the cost of living crisis worsens, Chris is trying to do what she can to save the business money during these difficult times. She explained: “We are having to think a bit more about what we’re using in terms of our utilities as well as what we order.

“If I’m honest, I think this is harder than Covid with the price of everything.

“The industry in general has had a difficult time recently and there is no sign of it letting up.

“With all that in mind, I’m even more proud and grateful for the hard work my team have put in. “That’s been the reason for our success if I’m honest, the grit and determination of us all.”

With her positive personality, Chris is going on to bigger and better things as she looks to open her new salon early next year.

She said: “We’ve got a new salon opening in Laceby on January 3 which we’re in the process of renovating at the moment. “We’re really excited, but also nervous about it, but we just want to start our new venture.

“I think the key is to not look at the doom and gloom so much and just do what you want to do.

“If you’re not confident in yourself you’ll never be able to do it.”
