Prime Minister Winston Churchill celebrated his 80th birthday in a day of ceremonies and tributes to his remarkable career

Meet two members of the Podgett family, sculpted by a group of pupils including, from left, Cavelle Allen, Shetmoi Lee and Paul Gwyther. Pupils at Grimsby’s Whitgift School took a break from the drudgery of lessons to put their artistic talents to the test in July 1991. And as a result of their Arts Week, sculptures, paintings, jewellery, fabrics and textiles filled the school’s art rooms.
