Thank you for covering Grand Funk Railroad in the February 2021 issue. This is one of the greatest unappreciated bands of all time. Mark Farner is a fabulous vocalist and a very underrated guitar player. Unfortunately, the lineup for the last 20 years has not included Farner. Mark Farner was the frontman for the band. Farner wrote the songs. Farner sang the songs. Farner was the only guitar player in the band. All the licks in the songs are Farner’s licks. The current lineup of the band is basically a Grand Funk Railroad tribute band. They can play Mark Farner’s songs, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: “No Farner,noFunk!”— GEORGE MAHERAS, FT. LAUDERDALE, FL
