Emma Ruth Rundle & Thou “Hollywood”

While there are some obvious similarities, this cover of a mid-Nineties single by the Cranberries ushers the music into some interesting directions. Emma Ruth Rundle’s voice adds the right amount of vulnerability against the heavily downtuned and fuzzedout guitars provided by Louisiana sludge-metal sextet Thou. While admittedly there was an inherent darkness to the original, this version is as bleak as it gets.
