Tomahawk “Business Casual”
NOT CONTENT WITH having revived cult experimental project Mr. Bungle last year, their fourth studio album arriving two decades on from its predecessor, Mike Patton has also been busy working with his “other” group outside of the main band. And, from the sounds of it, his efforts have not been in vain — “Business Casual” fusing hard-hitting alt-rock riffs with more atmospheric lines that dance between post-rock and filmscore. Some of the second-verse guitar fills by Duane Denison, also of the Jesus Lizard, sound like a nod to Johnny Marr’s slide work on “How Soon Is Now?,” which — let’s face it — can only be a good thing.
