More to come from us: Boden

- By Tom Scargill

Scott Boden insists there’s plenty more to come from FC Halifax Town after their 100 per cent start to the season. The Shaymen travel to Chester tomorrow (3.0) aiming for their fourth consecutive win of the campaign. They then host Lincoln on Monday (3.0).

Only Town and Forest Green have won their opening three games in the Conference Premier, but the striker reckons Halifax can build on their impressive opening.

He said: “It’s been a solid start. I’m still positive footballwise that there’s a lot more to come from us.

“But nine points out of nine - no-one can ask any more of us than that.

“The lads are bouncing off each other and all the new lads, like myself, have settled in really easily.

“It’s amazing how well it’s gone. It’s nice to be top but it’s only three games in.

“If it’s like this in another 40 we’ll be looking at it then.”

Boden is yet to find the net this season, although he laid on the first of Richard Peniket’s double against Welling.

The former Macclesfield forward admits he’s itching to register his first goal for the club.

He said: “It’s driving me crazy! It doesn’t play on my mind as much as it would have a couple of seasons ago.

“I got seven in eight in preseason but for some reason I can’t seem to buy a goal.

“But as long as we’re winning I’m fairly happy.

“It’s nice to get off the mark and as a striker you’re always judged on your goals.

“People will look at it and say I’ve not scored in three but I would rather win 10 out of 10 and me not score any. Turn to page 90
