WOMAN FINED FOR FALSE ROBBERY REPORT

-

A Halifax woman has been fined £90 for wasting police time after admitting making a false robbery report. The 29-year-old told police that a man had stolen her bag as she walked along Morley Street in Bradford on August 18. She said she had asked the man for directions before he led her down an alleyway and stole her bag, containing cash and her passport. She later changed her account to say that the cash and passport had not been stolen. Further enquiries failed to reveal any information and, after being challenged by officers, she admitted to making a false report.
