Plans by Calderdale and Greater Hud­der­s­field’s NHS Clin­i­cal Com­mis­sion­ing Groups to de­lay hold­ing a con­sul­ta­tion on pro­pos­als to down­grade A&E ser­vices has been wel­comed by Labour. The CCGs say the de­ci­sion to hold off on con­sul­ta­tion means more time can be spent de­vel­op­ing care closer to home and un­der­stand­ing the im­pacts will have on our hos­pi­tal ser­vices.

Leader of the Labour group on Calderdale Coun­cil, Coun Tim Swift has wel­comed the move.

He said: “We are pleased that Calderdale CCG have now ac­cepted our ar­gu­ment.

“Many peo­ple were con­cerned that the Trust plans were a done deal.

“The fact that the CCG has agreed to sig­nif­i­cantly change the planned timetable is a real vic­tory for the lo­cal com­mu­nity.
