Opticians’ cycle for better eye sight

Staff from Whitakers Opticians, Sowerby Bridge and Elland, Jonathan Whitaker and Richard Barker, pushed it up a gear in the saddle. They cycled 119-miles along stage one of the Tour de France route to raise money for Optometry Giving Sight - globally targeting the prevention of blindness and impaired vision through eye examination and glasses.

Jonathan said: “It was a tough challenge but worth it to help provide funds to allow people to see. We all take eyecare and glasses for granted but that isn’t the case in many countries”
