The following cases were heard at Calderdale Magistrate­s’ Court: Rizwan Ahmed, 29, of Mile Cross Place, Halifax, was fined £280 and ordered to pay £300 costs and £28 victim surcharge for having a bladed article in a public place. Carrie Binns, 26, of Oakendale Close, Halifax, was ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid community work and ordered to pay £250 costs and £60 victim surcharge for benefit fraud. James Richard Ellis, 32, of Lee Street, Brighouse, was ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid community work and ordered to pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge for assault. Matthew James Greaves, 24, of Industrial Road, Sowerby Bridge, was ordered to carry out 152 hours unpaid community work and ordered to pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge for breach of a restrainin­g order. Demi Kirsty Brocklehur­st, 22, of Back Clough, Northowram, was given an eight week curfew and ordered to pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge for theft of items valued £109.35 belonging to Wilkinsons, Halifax. Rachel Joanne Ingham, 34, of Westward House, Halifax, was jailed for 16 weeks for breach of a restrainin­g order. Daniel John, 24, of Duke Street, Elland, was given a restrainin­g order, fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 compensati­on, £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge for assault. Pamela McLaughlan, 46, of Cross Lane, Halifax, was given a restrainin­g order, fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 compensati­on and £50 costs for assault. David Olic, 31, of Hyde Park, Halifax, was ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid community work, given a restrainin­g order and ordered to pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharge for assault.
