Hit the right note in the new season with a special spring concert from Halifax Choral Society. On April 19, from 4pm, Halifax Choral Society will sing into spring in the Haydn Nelson Mass and other works joined by the North of England Classical Orchestra at Halifax’s Victoria Theatre.

Choristers will entertain crowds with pieces by Bach, Wachet Auf first movement, Prucell, Sonata for Trumpet and Handel, My Heart is Inditing.

The performance will be conducted by John PryceJones.

Soloist performances will be performed by Catrin PryceJones, Claire Pascoe, Dominic Barberi and Nicholas Watts - who all have links with the county of Yorkshire.

Halifax Choral Society publicist, Tina Matthews said: “The choir have covered just about all the choral repertoire available but the Haydn Nelson Mass is a particular fa- vourite. The choir describe it as ‘a really good sing’.

“Parts of it are musically very complicated so audiences will be presented with a wall of beautiful sound.

“Combined with the rich sound of the North of Eng- land Classical Orchestra it will make for a stand out concert.”

Tickets are priced from £11-£23 and can be bought from the theatre box office on 01422 351158 or by visiting the theatre’s website, www.victoriatheatre.co.uk.
