Berties goes that extra mile on your big day
A popular Calderdale wedding venue has been announced as a finalist in the prestigious “I Do” wedding awards.
Bertie’s at La Cachette, Brook Street, Elland, has been shortlisted in the Yorkshire wedding venue category of the national awards, after being nominated by couples who celebrated their special day at the venue.
The awards are organised by “I Do” wedding magazine, read by more than 30,000 brides and grooms every year and widely considered as the “bride’s bible” in the hunt for local wedding suppliers.
Director of Bertie’s, Jonathan Nichols, said: “We are very proud of this recognition and would like to thank all the cou- ples who voted for us. “With so many great wedding venues across Yorkshire to get this far is a brilliant achievement - our fingers are still crossed for going all the way though.”
Happy couples flew the flag for the Elland venue by writing testimonials about how staff went the extra mile to make their wedding day one to remember. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 19, at a glittering awards ceremony. The “I Do” wedding awards have been designed to recognise the dedicated work of wedding suppliers up and down the country. The awards celebrate those who go the extra mile to make a couple’s dream day exceptional. Nominated alongside Berties were Healds Hall Hotel, Liversedge; The Leeds Club, Leeds; Holiday Inn, Barnsley; and Rogerthorpe Manor, Pontefract. Berties Banqueting Rooms was bought by La Cachette owner Jonathan Nichols in 2013. The businesses - which are next door to one another - are now run side-by-side.
