Let’s celebrate our community champs
The annual Courier Community Spirit Awards is back for another year and we need you to make nominations for the people who matter to you and your communities. The awards evening, held at Berties at La Cachette on July 9, is an opportunity for the Courier and local sponsoring businesses to pay special thanks to individuals and charities working at the grass roots of our communities.
In partnership with the Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC), we want to champion those individuals, charities, businesses and voluntary organisations who work to make life better for the people of Calderdale.
The awards are open to everyone from high profile organisations to individual unsung heroes.
It will be a night to remember and a well-deserved showcase for the people who make Calderdale the caring, creative and conscientious place we all know and love.
Steve Duncan, chief executive of CFFC, said: “The Community Foundation and the Courier refreshed several of the categories last year to reflect the charitable activity carried out by young people and schools, and to recognise those in our communities who give selflessly of their time and money.
“The awards proved to be a huge success and this year we hope to once again recognise the many unsung heroes of Calderdale.
“Since the last awards I have invested time visiting local charitable organisations and meeting the generous people and companies who support them and, clearly, if the applications we receive reflect what I have observed, the judges will have an impossible task selecting a shortlist in each category.”
