Resource Centre , Halifax, has been given a ringing endorsemen­t by would-be Prime Minister David Cameron. “It is an absolute shining example of how, by enabling communitie­s to help themselves, we can knit together strong communitie­s,” he said during a visit to Halifax. volume of short stories by Halifax author Dr Phyllis Bentley has been published under the title Tales of the West Riding. Five of the stories, spanning the years 1434 to 1962, are true short stories; the sixth, which occupies half the book, is a novel in miniature which ends in a violent climax.
