Seeing the sights of London

-

At the beginning of this week, 46 children from Year Eight headed off on a coach to London. Over the course of two days we did multiple activities which were both fun and educational.

On the first day we all got up super early to get to school for 6.30am which meant we arrived in London at 12.30pm having stopped at a service station on the way.

When we got there we had no time to drop our bags off, it was straight to The Tower of London.

When we arrived, everybody was desperate to go see the Crown of Jewels, it was really interesting to see the Queen’s crown as we had only seen it on the TV before.

After we visited The Tower of London, we headed off to the hostel where we were going to be staying.

The hostel was called Safestay and everything was plum coloured. We were in a room of eight but Miss Orme, our head of year, made sure we were in a room with our friends so we enjoyed it.

A quick change and off we went to Pizza Express.

At Pizza Express we all got a pizza and a fizzy drink each, they were delicious.

At the theatre we went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, it was one of the best performances we have ever seen and most of us enjoyed this the most.

When the show had finished we went outside for the coach to come and collect us, at this point we were shattered and ready for bed!

On the Tuesday morning, we woke up early to get downstairs with our luggage for 8.30am.

We had breakfast, Mrs Hopkins packed our lunch and off we went to The London Eye.

The London Eye was incredible! It was amazing to see all of London, including Downing Street and Buckingham Palace as some of us hadn’t been to London before.

Just after we had been on the London Eye we had our lunch and then got on the coach to go to the Bank of Eng- land where we learnt some facts about money in the past and present.

Finally, we travelled to Madame Tussaude’s where we took pictures with celebrities (sort of!).

Straight after that we got on the coach and travelled back to Brighouse where our parents were waiting and we were all ready for bed!

Overall, London was an amazing trip to go on and we would love to go on it again.
