This month’s draw was won by: first: Jean Trickett, second: Kathleen Eidson and third: Nigel Smith. Tom Stewart, secretary, went through brief details of Joanne Ashman’s death and funeral arrangements and he said if any member who was not on the trip the following day could attend the funeral it would be appreciated. He also asked for a show of hands in support of a motion to send a £50 donation to Overgate Hospice as that is where Joanne spent her last days and hours before her death. Tom gave the details about the trip to The Great Yorkshire Show next month, which takes place the day before the next meeting. He read out the pick-up times and places so that everyone was aware of when and where they would be picked up. Andrew Mitchell thanked members for their support with the Sainsbury vouchers which he had used to obtain items for his Boy Brigade Group. The trip to Ullswater and Ambleside went extremely well. We had wonderful weather, the cruise was smooth and interesting offering views. The coach took us to Ambleside where we had time to look around and explore. This was followed by a wonderful afternoon tea at Rothay Manor, Ambleside. We then left for the return journey.
