The bathroom was also thoroughly investigated; the sink, the bath, behind water pipes etc. Despite his sterling efforts he was unable to trace any proof that the room was bugged. Finally he lifted the carpet and found a circular metal disc. Pleased that his suspicions had been proved to be correct he unscrewed the metal plate. There came a loud crash from the room below as the very old and expensive chandelier crashed to the floor. Members were assured that this was long before John Sullivan created Only Fools and Horses.
