Ogden’s big event switched to August

Huddersfield GC won last year’s event at Saddleworth with Dewsbury the runnersup. The Halifax- Huddersfield Union side continued its fine start to the season with a 1917 win away to Harrogate at Ripon City last Sunday.
Dave Pullen’s side were making it two wins out of two after a 20-16 win over East Riding at Meltham last month.
Their next match is against York at Bradley Hall on June 28.
Attention switches to Tommy Ward’s junior representative side on Sunday. They play Leeds at Selby. Halifax- Huddersfield Unioon pair Nick Marsh and Jamie Bower failed to make the match play stages at the Amateur Championship at Carnoustie and Panmure this week.
Halifax-born Marsh (Huddersfield) finished tied 89th out of 288 on 145 while Bower (Meltham) took one shot less for tied 65th QUEENSBURY Mrs Wood’s Coronation Trophy, Division One: 1, G. The Lady Captain’s competitions for ladies, men and juniors are taking place at the course this week, followed in July by the Open Ladies Pink Day competition in aid of breast cancer and cancer research.
