John Barnes, level at 12 with Clive Foord, fell behind to a break of seven and, despite a late rally, finished with 18.

Andrew added to Asa Briggs’ lead with his 21-12 success against Paul Hitchen before John Farrell registered what proved to be Hill Crest’s only success against Steve Wilkinson.

Farrell trailed 13-16 but fought back with a break of six and after Wilkinson had reached all- but, ran out to snatch victory by 21-20.

Scott Samson and Peter Wilkinson completed a resounding victory for Asa Briggs, Samson converting a 10-1 lead into a 21-17 win over Richard Buxton while Wilkinson just edged a tight game with Mark Rayner by 21-18.
