Captain’s Column

-

WHEN YOU’RE winning every week you don’t want games to stop, but when you’re going through a bit of a sticky spell, like we knew we would, it’s probably a good time for a break.

It gives the southern lads a chance to get home and see their families, recharge the batteries after 20 games, and have a reflection of how far we’ve come, and what a great position we’re in.

We’re in a great position but there is a bit of frustration over the last couple of games and the results that haven’t quite gone our way.

Everyone’s on board with trying to get the solution. The gaffer may even be able to get some new faces in.

There’s no getting away from the fact that we’re not in the greatest of form at the minute, but with the lads we’ve got in that dressing room, it’s only a matter of time before it gets put right.

Jack Redshaw has just come in and he’s looking sharp in training. If we could get any more in it would give us a little bit of a boost to go again up to Christmas, when there’s a lot of games and we’ll be able to tell where we’re going to be finishing.

We’ve conceded from a few set-pieces recently, which isn’t characteristic of Halifax over the years, and did so again against Torquay last Saturday.

Jacob Hanson then makes a decision he never does by diving in. He’s always good at staying on his feet, and probably one of the best one v one defenders I’ve seen.

I think there was an improvement in the secondhalf but it was crucial we got an early goal to put them on the back foot.

I’ve been back in full training and I’ll be available if the gaffer wants me for Woking.

I’ve made a good improvement over the last couple of weeks. I always knew I was ahead of schedule. It’s still important I do things right. If you could have a perfect way to plan your rehab, it would probably be no game this weekend, get a good week’s training behind you and then see where you are. I’m feeling good, it’s just a case of getting some match sharpness now.
