Young Guns call the shots in excellent pairs win

-

IN DIVISION One of the Tuesday Evening Pairs, champions Bowl You Over (Tom Robertshaw, Andy Gee) found Young Guns (Chloe Hirst, Frank Higgins) in a determined mood as Young Guns ran out 10-5 winners.

Newly promoted 46ers (Derek Finch, Stewart Wright) found the going tough when they lost out 9-5 to 2 Bs (Eric Grant, Bea Grant).

In Division Two, Rainy Days (Katie Gilbert, Russ Gilbert), who finished third in the Autumn league, did just enough to edge out relegated Pat & Pete (Pat Grant, Peter Grant) 8-7.

Another pair tipped for honours are Valley Boys (Keith Hanson, Nick Blackburn) who beat Jammy Duo (Danny Leather, Neil Mort) 9-7.

However, favourites must include Stray Cats (Andy Balmforth, Stuart Baker) who registered a resounding 21-3 win over Double D (Stuart Gill, Doug Parker).

In the Thursday Evening Triples, Clayton (Tony Riley, Mel Fielding, Paul Gill) found SID’s Mark McGorlick in top form, with support from Steve Swallow, Ian Ryding, as they ran out 15-14 winners.

At the start of the final end Clayton held a 14-12 lead but SID scored a three and take the game 15-14.
