It is uncertain if one acquires herd immunity after being exposed to the virus and if there is any immunity it is not known how long this will last. Viruses mutate and even if one has had the virus one may not be immune to the lastest strain.

Insurance companies may put a value on a person’s life depending on age, but most people do not put a financial value on their loved ones. There is no financial sum that I would prefer to the loss of one of my close family members.

I think that the economy should be run to benefit people and, to avoid the worst of climate change, we need to move rapidly to a low carbon economy. The NHS and social care needs strengthen­ing with more resources and staff.

I am very concerned that young people are getting a poor deal, with debt from studying, relatively high house prices and less secure employment. This is largely due to political decisions by the Tory Government. However, rather than moan I take positive action.

I set up my own small business at 65 and ran it for 16 years. This enabled me to contribute £40,000 to the education of a young doctor who is now on the frontline in a coronaviru­s ward.

It would be nice to see Mr Tagg and others put their money where their mouth is.

I have given up watching the BBC as the news is negative and biased to the Left. Matters would improve greatly if the BBC reported the news instead of trying to create it and its staff stopped asking ridiculous questions to which there are no answers.

I subscribe to Netflix and Amazon so why do I need to have a TV licence, the revenue from which goes to the BBC, when I do not watch its shows?

I take no pleasure in contributi­ng to the overinflat­ed salaries of its stars such as Gary Lineker, Graham Norton and Laura Kuenssberg.
