Former sevens star Davis lands presidency at Halifax Vandals
FORMER ENGLAND Sevens international Chris Davis has been confirmed as the new president of Halifax Vandals.
Davis, a lifelong member of the club, had a distinguished playing career that saw him represent Cambridge University and Saracens as well as England in the shortened version of the game.
Davis has been a vital figure behind the scenes at Warley over the years, forming an important part of the coaching team with Kevin McCallion.
And although he will continue to put the players through their paces on the pitch, he will now look to help the Vandals develop off it as well. Davis’ primary aim is providing effective enrichment opportunities for the local and wider community to enjoy during the next decade and beyond.
Davis takes the reins following Roland Laycock’s decision to step down after seven years of tireless work.
Halifax Vandals return to training on Saturday, April 3, at 12noon, with all players new and old welcome to attend the session.
