Halifax Boxing Club’s young fighters once again took centre stage in another spectacular show at the club’s Ladyship Mills home last week.

The sell-out crowd were treated to a packed bill, in which many of the club’s young boxers were experiencing the thrill of appearing in a boxing arena for the first time.

There were several highlights for the club including Archie Houlden, Jack Ferrand and Mikey Rowe taking part in their first skills bouts.

Archie Wakefield won his first fight for Halifax in a great contest against Issa Hussain, from the Pound 4 Pound club, in Bradford.

Callum Schofield was unlucky to lose out in a close fight against Sowerby Bridge ABC fighter Marley Doyle.

However, there were victories to cheer when Henley Ramsden beat Dylan Wilson, from Kingston ABC, and super fit Josh Collins defeated Abdul Rehman, from Huggys ABC in a terrific fight that had non-stop action form start to finish.

More success came when Halifax’s Kiah Mason showed great skill to claim a unanimous points victory over Evolve’s James Price.

Halifax new boy, 16-yearold Tyson Nazha put up a great battle against Junayd Khan, fighting out of Pound 4 Pound, in a terrific fight that had the crowd on their feet.

He was presented with the fighter of the night award,

with young Archie Wakefield also claiming the junior fighter of the night.

Halifax Boxing Club hosts youth boxing classes, adult coaching sessions for over-16s and 1-2-1 coaching with their

team of experienced and fully qualified coaches.

There is also a fully equipped gym with classes, induction sessions and personal trainers available.
