Ministox star Boden celebrates Irish title

-

Copley speedster Boden Murfin was crowned National Ministox Irish champion after a sensational performance on the track last week.

The talented 13-year-old travelled from his home in Halifax to Aghadowey, in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, and came away with a brilliant victory that rubber-stamped his growing reputation in the sport.

Boden is currently in his third season in National Ministox, a full contact motorsport in which the drivers are aged between 10 and 16 years-old.

Unlike all other motorsports, the fastest drivers start at the back of the grid and so the youngsters’ skills in overtaking and race planning are thoroughly tested throughout each race.

Winning the Irish Championship is Boden’s greatest achievement in the sport so far. He was in a three-way battle with Luke Syrett-Barsby and Kasey Jones, with the trio exchanging the lead throughout the entertaining race.

The sparks were flying as they thundered off the wall bend after bend, but it was Boden who snatched the win in tremendous fashion.

For the majority of his Ministox career, Boden has held superstar grade as one of the six highest point scorers with his club.

He has raced since he was seven years old, featuring in the Micro F2s until he reached 11 years-old. His first drive in a Micro was for a demonstration at Stoke Speedway when he was just six.

Boden helps to fix and prepare his car prior to race meetings. He is a committed and dedicated young driver and he would like to thank all his sponsors who support and help him.
