Harriers start the new year at Hit the Trail

-

Todmorden Harriers’ Grand Prix is officially under way after 23 club runners marked the new year at the Hit the Trail event, in Stockport.

The popular race is a chance for everyone to run off that Christmas excess and test out their new running kit, while coaxing their legs back into action.

The course was mostly flat, with two long sections that ran along a disused railway line punctuated by some proper cross-country runs.

There was a strong showing from the Harriers and Ash Wright secured an excellent fifth place overall, with Janine McGregor-Stead finishing fourth in the women’s ranks.

Wright was backed-up by Dom Leckie and Duncan Cannon as Todmorden collected the men’s team prize.
