Denied driving at partner’s car
A Blantyre man denied deliberately driving at speed towards a car containing his partner.
John Welsh, of Welsh Drive, is alleged to have driven dangerously and erratically, revved his engine in an aggressive manner, collided with and damaged a vehicle with his partner Marie Tully inside.
Welsh, (28), is also accused of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing and making threats of violence towards Ms Tully.
Both alleged offences are said to have happened on April 9 at Cameron Way, Blantyre.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court this week Welsh pleaded not guilty to the charges and the case was adjourned until June 23.
Welsh faces further charges that he assaulted his sister Nicole Welsh on May 22 in Parkville Drive, Blantyre.
It is claimed that Walsh repeatedly pushed her on the body and stood on her foot, causing her to fall.
It is further alleged that on the same date at the same address Walsh assaulted Stephen Mcmahon by repeatedly punching him on the head and body and seizing his clothing.
Walsh also faces claims that on May 22 in Parkville Drive he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner.
He is alleged to have repeatedly shouted, swore, made offensive remarks, damaged doors challenged others to fight. He denies all the charges. The case was adjourned until June 24 for an intermediate diet.
It is also claimed that on February 25, 2015, Welsh drove a vehicle while he had a reading of 115 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 50 milligrammes.
Welsh is also accused of providing false personal details to police with the intention of perverting the course of justice.
Both alleged offences are said to have taken place on Welsh Drive, Blantyre.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court this week he pleaded not guilty to the charges and the case was adjourned until June 22 for an intermediate diet. Bail was denied and Welsh was remanded in custody. and
