Gracie dumps St Roch’s

Larkhall Thistle were the only county club to clock up a win in Wednesday’s Euroscot Engineering Central League Cup third-round ties.
The Jags produced a sting in the tail to win 2-1 away to a St Roch’s with whom they drew 4-4 in a league match last month.
Jordan Marshall’s free-kick in 19 minutes found Davie Reid, who slipped the ball into the path of Graham Gracie to finish under the advancing keeper. Stewart Thomson produced a couple of good saves before and after the break, then in 78 minutes he provided a long punt, which the keeper misjudged, and Gracie headed into the empty net.
Gracie went close to a hat-trick five minutes later when keeper Jordan Brown’s clearance fell right to him, but from a wide angle he could only hit the post.
St Roch’s notched a lastminute consolation counter.
Manager Duncan Sinclair said: “The boys played really well, and thoroughly deserved their win, and maybe could have scored a couple more goals.
“I hope Tuesday night’s fourth-round draw doesn’t land us with a game on the first weekend of June, because we have four players on holiday at that point.
“It has been an encouraging end of season run, having lost only twice in our last 10 league games – and that was against Renfrew and Maryhill, who were both promoted.”
