Rutherglen band aren’t boxed in with city gig
A Rutherglen rock band will be hoping to get their career moving in the right direction this weekend when they play Box.
Four-piece Auto Von will be back on the gigging trail after a period of inactivity and line-up changes that slowed the band down. Now they’re eager to get back onstage and play their own brand of punky indie. Singer Emma Donohoe lives in Toryglen and told the Ticket: “If I’m being honest, things have been a bit stop-start recently and it would be nice to just gig again and get some new music. “Maybe once we’ve a settled line-up and some new songs we can think about going into the studio.
“We’re looking forward to this as we haven’t played live for a while.
“We’ve even got a cover up our sleeves we’re hoping will go down well.”
The quartet first came together at the end of 2015, from the ashes of the Rutherglen band Bismarck.
Emma explained: “Scott, Neil and Dougie had been playing together for a few years but after a few changes they decided they wanted to change direction and bring in a dedicated singer. That’s where I came in – my in their songs.
