Head to the park and have fun spotting local wildlife
Chatelherault Country Park is one of the Lanarkshire venues where young wildlife fans can take part in a fun project to spot some furry and feathered friends.
The Clyde and Avon Valley Wildlife Challenge asks children to keep an eye out for different animals every month.
And between April and June youngsters will be on the hunt for badgers, kingfishers and damselflies.
Children can get along to Chatelherault between 10am and 12.30pm on Saturday, May 13.
The event is free but you need to book at projectofficer@ scottishbadgers.org.uk or by calling 07565 813401.
A free event called Castles, Craigs and Creatures will take place at Cartland Craigs, Lanark, on Wednesday, May 10, between 7.30pm and 9.30pm.
Book by calling 01698 421668.
A free Cleghorn Glen Dusk Wildlife Walk will be held in Lanark on Thursday, May 11, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

A free Family Badger Watch will take place at the Falls of Clyde, New Lanark, on Friday, May 12, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm.
You should email Laura Preston at lpreston@ scottishwildlifetrust.org. uk to book a place.
Before going on any of the challenges, children can download spotting guides and the checklist, then link their findings to irecord at www. clydeandavonvalley.org.
The species to keep an eye out for during the year are goosander, otter, great spotted woodpecker, kingfisher, badger, blue tailed damselfly, bats, candlesnuff fungus, comma butterfly, nuthatch, roe deer and salmon.
“We’re urging people to discover more about this amazing landscape and the wildlife that can be found within it through this campaign,” said Chris Waltho of South Lanarkshire Council Countryside.
