Paws-itive result at Chatelherault

- Staff reporter

Pooches had a‘pawsome’time at the annual fun day that Dogs Trust hold in Chatelherault Country Park.

The homeless hounds helped the charity raise an incredible £6000 on Sunday, June 4.

More than 3000 supporters attended the event and donated gifts and raffle prizes during the day.

There are now plenty of wagging tails at the rehoming centre outside Uddingston as the huge sum goes directly to the stray, abandoned and unwanted dogs.

Emma-louise Livingstone, supporter relations officer at Dogs Trust, said:“our fun day was a huge success and for that, we thank our incredible supporters who helped us make the event bigger and better than ever this year.

“It was such a fun day and we’re lucky that the weather was on our side. Thanks to the generosity from people and organisations across the county, we raised more than £6000, with money still coming in.

“Everything that Dogs Trust achieves is because of the wonderful support we receive enabling us to care for and rehome over 15,000 dogs a year and educate half a million school children and communities.

“We understand there was a traffic signal failure just outside the venue which caused delays for attendees when leaving the park. Although this occurred outside the venue and was outwith our control, we would like to thank everyone for their patience.”
