FIGHTING TO Crawford insists Accies’comeback at Rugby Park

Andy Mcgilvray Ali Crawford was delighted to earn a draw with Kilmarnock and said it was important for Hamilton to take something from the game.

The midfielder struck with a penalty in 87 minutes after Greg Docherty had been fouled by Steven Smith and said it was vital for Accies to continue the good start they had made to the season.

Crawford said: “It’s a point gained, coming from 2-0 down, which we shouldn’t have been in the first place.

“We showed the fighting spirit we have amongst the group and we got it back to get a point out of the game, which is positive.

“We never lie down when we’re behind, we always fight to the last minute, we showed that, and thankfully we got something out of the game.

“It’s a brilliant start. It was pretty important not to lose this game after the previous two wins, so to get something out of it is very good and it’s a good start to the season.

“The work-rate that everybody puts in is excellent and that’s the ethos of the club – if you work hard you’ll get something out of the game.

“We showed that on Saturday, we’ve fought to the last minute and in previous week’s we’ve been excellent.

“Now we have a break to refresh the legs and go again against Celtic. The internatio­nal break is a tough one; after a defeat you want the break to regroup, but when we’ve been doing well it has probably come at a bad time, but it happens.
