Mcmann lauds a battling showing

-

Scott Mcmann said Hamilton battled back to grab a great point against Kilmarnock on Saturday, and believes that proves they can have a good season.

Left-back Mcmann was impressed with Accies’fighting qualities as they came back from 2-0 down to draw, and hopes it stands them in good stead.

He said:“it was a battle. I don’t think we were playing poorly, I thought we got much the better of the first half, played the better football.

“It was scrappy in the second half, and when we went 2-0 down I thought we showed great character to get back into it. Given the circumstances, I think it was a great point.

“It was a good finish by Ioannis and it’s a tough one to take on the halfvolley, and it got us back in the game. It gave us the extra five or 10 per cent to go and look for the equaliser.”

Scott added:“at the start of the season, if you had offered us seven points from the first four games I think we would certainly have taken it.

“Last week at Hibs it was a great result, same the week before at home to Dundee, and even on Saturday it was a good result. We’re confident we can kick on and have a good season.”

Mcmann reckons Hamilton can use the international break to come back stronger. He said:“this gives all the boys a rest, and gives us a chance to get guys back like Danny Redmond and Rakish Bingham.”
